An open-air museum by the sea
Puerto del Rosario is home to one of the most important urban sculpture parks in the Canary Islands. More than a hundred works are integrated in streets, squares and promenades, turning the city into a real open-air museum.
Outstanding sculptures
The route allows you to discover works by local, national and international artists, made in materials such as steel, bronze, marble or basalt. Some emblematic pieces:
-
Opera Prima – Isaac Medina
-
Fragment of Power – Juan Miguel Cubas
-
Tarabilla – Máximo Riol
- Overseas Baggage – Eduardo Úrculo
-
Las Cabras – Emiliano G. Hernandez
-
The Esplanade Fountain – Amancio Gonzalez and Nicolae Fleissig
Each work dialogues with the urban environment and with the history of the city, many of them emerging from the International Sculpture Symposiums.
Integrated cultural centers
The tour is completed with visits to the Juan Ismael Art Center and the Lime Kilns Interpretation Center, connecting contemporary art, industrial heritage and historical memory.
