Merendero Casa de Felipito: A Recreational Space with History in Fuerteventura

The Merendero Casa de Felipito, also known as Casas de Felipito, is a recreational area located in the Llano del Triguero, at the intersection of the Barranco de La Herradura and El Time, near the village of Guisguey, in the municipality of Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura. This space is an ideal place to enjoy nature, local history and the tranquility offered by the rural environment of Majorca.

History and Origin

The picnic area is named after Felipe Ruiz Gonzalez, popularly known as Felipito el Feo, an endearing character of the early twentieth century. Felipito lived on this farm with his family, dedicating himself to preparing the land for cultivation and building stone walls to protect it from the wind and stray animals. The original house, a typical Majorcan peasant house with three rooms and a bathroom, has been restored and conditioned for its preservation as part of the ethnographic heritage of the island.
