Insular Youth Center (CIJ)
The Centro Insular de Juventud (CIJ) is one of the main public spaces dedicated to youth in Fuerteventura and is located in Puerto del Rosario, capital of the island. It is an infrastructure promoted by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura with the aim of providing a meeting place, training, information and active participation for young people.
The CIJ is conceived as an open, dynamic and multifunctional space, designed to respond to the concerns, needs and projects of the youth of Majorca. From here, initiatives related to non-formal education, creativity, healthy leisure, employability and social participation are promoted.
The center has modern and versatile facilities, including multipurpose rooms for workshops and activities, spaces for meetings and group work, areas for exhibitions and events, as well as areas designed for informal meetings among young people. These facilities allow the development of a diverse program adapted to different interests and ages within the youth group.
One of the pillars of the CIJ is its function as a youth information point, offering guidance on studies, scholarships, employment, mobility, volunteering, housing and European programs, among other areas. This service makes the center a reference for young people seeking advice and support at different stages of their personal and professional development.
Throughout the year, the Centro Insular de Juventud hosts training workshops, courses, lectures, cultural activities, youth meetings and participatory programs, promoting values such as equality, inclusion, creativity and social commitment. It also collaborates on a regular basis with youth associations, cultural groups and educational entities.
Its location in Puerto del Rosario facilitates access both to young residents in the capital and to those who travel from other municipalities of the island, consolidating the CIJ as an insular reference in youth policies.
Visiting or participating in the activities of the Insular Youth Center allows to know an active and contemporary facet of Fuerteventura, where young people have their own space to express themselves, train and build future projects.
