Fuente de Los Pocitos picnic area

Aventura Leisure Merendero Mirador Turismo rural

The Merendero de la Fuente de Los Pocitos is one of the most pleasant outdoor leisure spaces in the municipality of Puerto del Rosario. Located in the bed of the ravine of La Noria, in the vicinity of La Ampuyenta and accessible from the road Rosa del Taro-La Ampuyenta, this enclave combines natural, historical and recreational value in a quiet and well-preserved environment.

The main attraction of Los Pocitos lies in the presence of seven natural springs, dug into the ground, one of which is approximately 20 meters deep. For centuries, these springs played a fundamental role in supplying water to the nearby towns and to the people who traveled the ancient roads in the interior of the island, in a territory marked by water scarcity.

Today, this space has been conditioned as a recreational area, making it an ideal place for relaxation, family gatherings and traditional barbecues. The picnic area has tables, covered seating and barbecues, respectfully integrated into the landscape, allowing you to enjoy the environment in comfort without losing its natural character.

The intervention in the area has been completed with a process of reforestation and environmental recovery, through the planting of palm trees, wild olive trees and junipers, characteristic species of the Majorero landscape. In addition, tabaibas, mocanes and seedlings have been introduced to reinforce biodiversity and contribute to the ecological improvement of the ravine.

From the picnic area you can also enjoy magnificent views of the interior landscape of Fuerteventura, with gentle slopes and native vegetation that reflect the close historical relationship between humans and the natural environment. It is a place that invites to calm, walk and disconnect, away from the urban environment.

The Merendero de la Fuente de Los Pocitos is, in short, a privileged corner where nature, history and leisure go hand in hand, offering the visitor the opportunity to get to know and enjoy one of the most representative traditional spaces of the interior of the municipality.
