Tagoror de El Time: Ancestral Gathering Center in Puerto del Rosario
The Tagoror of El Time is a historical monument located in the village of El Time, in the municipality of Puerto del Rosario. In the aboriginal Canarian culture, a “tagoror” was a circular stone space where the Guanches, the ancient inhabitants of the islands, congregated to hold meetings and make community decisions.
This archaeological site reflects the importance of the tagorores as meeting and deliberation places in the pre-Hispanic society of the Canary Islands. The El Time structure has been the subject of studies and conservation efforts to preserve its historical and cultural value. Visiting the Tagoror of El Time offers a unique opportunity to connect with the ancestral roots of Fuerteventura and better understand the traditions and forms of social organization of its first inhabitants. In addition, the surrounding natural environment provides a picturesque landscape that enriches the visitor’s experience.
